At The Water's Edge
(Bronze Sculpture, 25" H x 18" W x 13" D)
I was inspired to sculpt this eagle after observing the bird's repeated failed fishing efforts. On a damp, drizzly morning, she tried unsuccessfully to catch fish from the mouth of a river. Like any fisherman, this bird had patience. She was finally rewarded with brunch and ate it on a rock at the water's edge. Leaving the skeleton of the fish behind, she shook the water from her feathers, flew back into the air and out of my sight for the rest of the day.
