Entrance Hill

Visually, the male lion and female lion are easily distinguished from the other. The male has a huge mane to protect it from injury and to make it appear to be larger than he really is. Lions are unique to the Cat family. Being highly social, lions from prides. Entrance Hill is located at the entrance to the San Antonio Zoo. In the spirit of the pride, hospitality and welcome are extended to all who come to the zoo. This bronze has a practical function. It is used as a background for photo sitting. Large numbers sit on the backs of these animals and smile as their picture is taken.
