This piece began my love affair with the Great Blue Heron. This bronze fountain stands in the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. The bronze presents three Great Blue Herons. The young developing bird is depicted in a raised format. This young bird is almost adult yet still dependent on his parents for sustenance. Is this the last meal the youthful bird will receive from his parents?
